Plus, their male commander, Ohgami Ichirou, who is promoted from naval gofer to everyone's love interest somewhere in between episodes.

The story of the movie is somewhat based on the plot of the most recent game, "Sakura Wars 3," released back in March this year. While the game features Lieutenant Ohgami, the main character who takes off for Paris, narrates one side of the story, the movie unveils the secrets behind Hanagumi. Ohgami leaves for Paris, consequently leaving Hanagumi without a leader; thus a new character will be introduced here. To be replaced with Lieutenant Ohgami is the former leader of Hoshigumi, Rachette Artile - a rationalistic and distinct individual, who brings about serious problems to Hanagumi. The members are now in discord with Rachette. Meanwhile, Teikoku Kagekidan was being threatened by some irrelevant demons and a new type of anti-kouma mechas, (brought by an american company) appears and tries to replace the koubu-kai. Having made repeated mistakes due to the absence of Ohgami, Hanagumi is now faced with an unprecedented danger, while the abolishment of Teikoku Kagekidan Hanagumi is being schemed.

As Sumire Kanzaki (Tomizawa Michie) shockingly announced her retirement in Tokyo Game Show 2001 in Japan, in 2002 a New Year public show was performed as a "Sumire Kanzaki retirement commemoration". A new Sakura Taisen OVA was also released to commemorate her retirement.

The events of this OVA takes place immediately after the events of Sakura Taisen 3. Ohgami Ichirou, the former squad leader of the Paris Kagekidan Hanagumi, had just departed for his return trip to Japan, where he will reassume command of the Teikoku Kagekidan Hanagumi. However, Ohgami did not designate a successor prior to his departure, which leads to some infighting amongst the members of the Paris Kagekidan. Meanwhile, another foe has risen to threaten the sanctity of Paris. Will the members of the Paris Kagekidan be able to put aside their differences and work together to combat this threat? Will they be able to choose a leader themselves or will the choice be forced upon them?

Гледал съм филма само, но попаднах и на едни много приятни фигурки преди много време. Oh yea, *bumpz0rz*

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation (2020) ep. 1 - идиотско е, а визията и анимацията са 3D CGI от ранга на Ingress и Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai...но ме забавлява. Ще погледна оригиналния сериал. Помня, че наверемето филмът не ми хареса, ама все пак го гледах извън контекста.

Sakura Taisen ep. 1-18 - тъпо е колкото го помня от времето, когато го въртяха по AXN, но ми изглежда дори още по-лошо направено: избягване на сложни екшън сцени, останалата анимация също е дървена, странен монтаж, странен sound design, разнородна игра на сеютата...
Забелязах, че всъщност първото OVA е по-старо от ТВ сериала и изглежда значително по-добре. Май трябваше да почна от него.

Sakura Taisen ep. 19-25 - елементарно и лошо направено си остана до края.

Изглеждат много красиво, но разказът е накъсан и няма почти нищо общо с главната история. Mech-ата също е в минимални количества.
Реших да не се занимавам и с останалите 2 OVA, а филмът съм го гледал преди години.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 2 - новите технологии правят шоуто леко дървено и странно изглеждащо, но пък е значително по-динамично, разбираемо и по-екшън насочено от по-старите Sakura Taisen заглавия.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 3-5 - сюжетна скука, а и екшънът вече никакъв го няма.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 6 - сигурно най-тъпият план с примамка: водещ право в сиропиталище. Сакура е тъпа, като талпа и не разпозна за пореден път своята учителка по фехтовка.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 7 - ъх.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 8 - нещо не се връзва, защо лошковците не направиха това още в началото, а изчакаха драматично? Този сезон поставя нови рекорди за лошо сценаристко майсторство в поредицата.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 9 - поне се посбиха за 5-6 минути.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 10 - известна доза от странния мека екшън, който е единственото привлекателно нещо в поредицата...и традиционно е в минимални количества.
На практика дотук интересното от целия сезон може да се събере в максимум два епизода. Щеше да работи по-добре, като значително по-късно ONA.

Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation ep. 11 - предимно рекапи и флешбеци.
