Formed in April 2004, Scar Symmetry came together during the band Altered Aeon's recording session at Jonas Kjellgren's Black Lounge Studios. That same month, the band recorded a demo for the song "Seeds of Rebellion" which helped the band get a recording contract with Cold Records (A subsidiary of Metal Blade Records).
In July 2005, the band entered Black Lounge Studios to begin laying down the tracks for the debut album, Symmetric in Design. They followed it up by playing festivals in Europe, as well as touring with Soilwork, Hypocrisy and One Man Army
In June 2006, it was announced that the band had signed a new recording deal with Nuclear Blast records. Eight months after the release of Symmetric In Design the band found themselves back in the studio to record their follow-up, Pitch Black Progress. The band again followed up their recording by touring, this time with Communic for the Waves of Pitch Black Decay Tour 2006 throughout Europe and toured North America with melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquillity, and The Haunted. They also performed at more European festivals. The song, "The Illusionist" began receiving air-play on MTV2's Headbangers Ball.

In September of 2007, the band embarked on another North American tour with headliners Katatonia as well as Insomnium and Swallow the Sun.
Following the Live Consternation tour with Katatonia, Insomnium and Swallow the Sun, the band has returned home to begin working on their third album. Entitled Holographic Universe, the band has already written thirteen songs, and aims to have at least sixteen written before entering the studio to record on December 1. The band aims to have the album out in June.
Lead vocalist Christian Älvestam also appeared on the album Out of the Dark, the second album by the Nuclear Blast All-Stars to commemorate 20 years of existence for Nuclear Blast Records. Alvestam appeared on the track "The Overshadowing"

Газят,мачкат и къртят дограма(от вносната).Много добра,но подценена мелодик дет метъл банда.
Препоръчвам я на всички фенове на дет-а въобще.
А вокала е много добър и фактически бандата се води dream банда(това е когато една банда е съставена от популярни музиканти).

Кристиан Евестан е БОГ!!!! Няма такъв глас. И групата и текстовете са перфектни!

Мачкащи са, НО стана пределно ясно, че в тоя раздел няма нужда от теми, които акцентират в/у тежката музика ... хората избухват на Металика/ЛП/някви емо гоМна и Ивана.

Като за модерна мелодична дет метъл група са много добри. В никакъв случей не ги омаловажавам, но просто не са мой стил и не мога да се изпълня от музиката им. Иначе всичко им е точно.

20.06.2008 излиза официално новия албум

Аз, както се вижда, вече точа лиги. От вчера просто немога да спра да я слушам новата песен и ся само чакам размазвацията, която ще е новият албум.

Дано да е стабилен.Че нещо тази песен малко по-мелодична ми се струва.
