Cross Marian is a womanizer who loves to gamble and drink. When he gambles, he makes extravagant bets and, if he loses, he never pays, leaving Allen or someone else to do so. When he was training Allen, he forced his apprentice into battle with no time to prepare and taunted Allen as he fought to "help" him. He only loves very few things: women, wine, money and beautiful things. When in battle himself, he acts very cold and uncaring.

He is shown to be a gruff, demanding individual who is hard to please. In fact, he usually refers to Allen as "Idiot apprentice" or Stupid Pupil in the english Manga. Most of the Black Order considers Cross a great man, to which he is, however, he is normally always rude and tough on Allen. This could be because Allen is his apprentice and thus he has to be hard on him. Allen fears him which is hinted from the fact most of his flashbacks that include Cross end with some kind of traumatizing (usually humorous) experience. Despite all this, Cross has shown a softness underneath his rough exterior for certain people.

Date Masamune ( Sengoku Basara )

The ruler of the Date clan known as the Dokuganryū (One-Eyed Dragon). He is a cocky, ambitious warlord who tends to speak in a mixture of English and Japanese. He usually wields a single katana, but can store and fight with six swords at once (three in each hand, held between the fingers). He is also depicted in a rivalry with Sanada Yukimura.
Off the battlefield, Date's demeanor is surprisingly quiet, mild and thoughtful. He discusses plans and difficulties openly with his men and often weighs the counsel of his second in command, Kojuurou Katakura, before making major decisions. This inner personality contrast adds to his character's appeal. Also, his loyalty to his men is unmistakable.

A Gourmet Hunter with an abnormally large appetite (A food serving for 500 people could only get him 1/10 full). He is known as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings," and his nickname is "The Glutton." Despite having a huge appetite and massive power, he does not indiscriminately kill and eat any animal; he only kills those animals he decides to eat. He has immunity to seventy different poisons, created by injecting himself with a near fatal dose of each poison and causing his body to create antibodies. He also has an animal-like sense of smell. He has adopted the Battle Wolf's new born pup and named it Terry Cloth. Like the other Kings, Toriko started off as a chain animal. He and the other Four Heavenly Kings were trained by Ichiryū, the president of the IGO. He has selected Komatsu as his chef in his bishoku-ya and chef combo, which Komatsu accepted.

Itsuki is Astral's kind and well-meaning second president, who inherited the title after his father, first president Tsukasa Iba mysteriously disappeared. Itsuki possesses Glam Sight (妖精眼, fairy eye) in his right eye which, when used, allows him to see magic and its weaknesses, control the flow of spell-waves and even peer into the memories of magic users that do battle against it. Itsuki's Glam Sight is extremely painful for him to use and given his lack of formal training in its use, extremely dangerous to his well-being. Frequently, Itsuki's use of Glam Sight results in him receiving spell-wave contamination, the magical equivalence of radiation poisoning. When Itsuki uses his Glam Sight his personality becomes more dominant and his confidence is boosted;, but when the Glam Sight is sealed by the eye-patch he reverts back to his original tender personality.
