° Synopsis °
In the summer of 2007, Sugita Heisuke, who works for an electronics manufacturer, sends-off his wife Naoko, who is going home to visit her parents in Nagano, and 16-year-old daughter Monami. Several hours later, the express bus carrying Naoko and Monami plunges off a cliff, and Heita, who learns of the accident through the news, rushes to a hospital in Nagano. Naoko momentarily regains consciousness but passes away. On the other hand, Monami miraculously returns to life but has lost her facial expressions and speech. One day after Naoko’s funeral, Monami recovers her speech and Heisuke is overjoyed. However, the words she says are, “I’m not Monami. I’m Naoko.” Monami starts talking about the first night Naoko spent with Heisuke, who has difficulty grasping the situation.
