> We Got Married Season 2 Coming Up, Wednesday November 19, 2008 Korea

With less than ideal ratings for the past few months, the PDs of MBC star wedding variety We Got Married held a press conference yesterday together with 2 of it’s newer couples, Marco and Son Dambi, Hwanhee and Hwayobi, announcing a format change and season 2 of We Got Married.

Apart from revealing the headlines, the PDs did not reveal much. Other than parading the 2 couples Marco and Son Dambi, Hwanhee and Hwayobi, they also revealed that a new couple will be scouted. This is to make up for the departure of Hwang Bo and Kim Hyun Joong whose last episode would be in mid-December. Season 2 will thus be made up of Crown J and Seo In Young, Marco and Son Dambi, Hwanhee and Hwayobi plus an additional couple.

To address concerns that she might exit the show because of her Hollywood movie filming, Son Dambi expressed, “This December, the movie representatives are coming to Korea. I am also learning dancing from a cheoreographer, studying acting and learning English. I know that we are filming a fair part (of the movie) in Korea, so I think I can film We Got Married and the movie at the same time.” (many thanks to Kay for translation)

A format change usually signals a vote of no confidence. I can only think back to the past where Xman and Heroine 6 went through changes and ultimately ended up in history. There are of course always exceptions definitely.

And that’s it. Considering how flippant the We Got Married PDs are, anything could happen. They usually say this today but then another thing happens the next week. So it’s quite sketchy where it comes to We Got Married.

Kangin and Lee Yoon Ji are the new couple on WGM


As for what busy schedule, Kangin does a daily radio show for 2 hours a day, MCs shows MTV's "Class Up," as well as participating in SBS "Start King" and Mnet "Band of Brothers" every week as well as guest shots on various programs on a weekly basis. Right at the moment, he's also promoting his recent film "Simple Manhwa" as well as being active in 2 SuJu subunits, SuJu-T in Japan and SuJu-Happy in Korea (although that is tapering down now). Oh, and SuJu as a whole is working on their 3rd album and are in the process of recording right now, not to mention the Super Show Asian Tour which is still going on.
Kangin will start filming on December 17 which will be broadcast on December 21.

JunJin Being Considered for We Got Married

Kangin and Lee Yoon Ji was announced earlier as the new couple on MBC We Got Married with their concept being a college couple who is starting out and living frugally. The replacements for Crown J and Seo In Young couple who would conclude filming at the end of December was also revealed. The production team of We Got Married is saying that JunJin is the likely replacement and they are looking for someone to pair him up with.

But the producers refused to confirm the possibilty as yet, “Until we find a match for JunJin, we will keep interviewing (possible candidates). If we can’t find someone who can match JunJin, we will look for an alternative. If JunJin is added, the new couple will start filming at the end of December.”

The production team of We Got Married who has been witholding news about the new couples was forced to make official statements yesterday to squash rumors from netizens who have been playing their own fantasy couple pairing.

Some netizens pointed out that idol stars would not fit the show’s image while others expressed that this would be a burden to the already heavy workload of idol stars. But the production team ignored them, “All new couples were selected based on their personalities and chemistry with each other.”
