Gendo Ikari[1] is the Commander of Nerv, the husband of the "deceased" Yui Ikari and the distant father of Shinji Ikari. Originally known as Gendo Rokubungi, he changed his family name to Ikari after marrying Yui[2] and was then appointed as head of Gehirn and later Nerv, by Seele[3]. Along with sub-commander Kozo Fuyutsuki, Gendo is responsible for the defense of Tokyo-3 against the Angels, and for aiding in the completion of the Human Instrumentality Project. At the beginning of the series, Gendo summoned his son to Tokyo-3 in order to serve as a replacement pilot for Eva-01.

Kenshiro (ケンシロウ, Kenshirō?, nicknamed Ken for short) is the main protagonist of the franchise Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. According to Buronson, Kenshiro's character design was inspired by the character of Max Rockatansky from the Mad Max film series and martial artist Bruce Lee.
In the story, Kenshiro is the rightful successor of an ancient art of assassination called Hokuto Shinken, which allows Kenshiro to defeat his adversaries through use of hidden meridian points. Through the course of the original manga, Kenshiro fights against various ruffians who threaten the lives of the post-apocalyptic survivors, as well as numerous rival martial artists, including his three honorary brothers trained in the art of Hokuto Shinken.
Kenshiro is also known as the Man With Seven Scars (七つの傷の男, Nanatsu no kizu no otoko?), due to the seven scars engraved on his chest patterned after the shape of the Big Dipper (the symbol of the Hokuto school), as well as the Savior of Century's End (世紀末救世主, Seikimatsu Kyūseishu?). In the manga, as well as most anime adaptations of the franchise, Kenshiro's catch phrase before killing an enemy is "you're already dead" (お前はもう死んでいる, omae wa mō shindeiru?).

Yu Kanda is an Exorcist of the religious organization known as the Black Order. He is a Second Exorcist; an Exorcist who was genetically altered by the Black Order after his previous body suffered a fatal incident on a mission. He is one of the main protagonists of the D.Gray-Man series.
Kanda comes across as cold, stoic, and arrogant, even to his fellow exorcists. In battle he will do anything to win, sometimes at the risk of his teammates. He once made a sarcastic joke about leaving them to die. It is his opinion that exorcists are not saviors.

Sesshōmaru (殺生丸, Sesshōmaru), feared throughout the world as "Lord Sesshōmaru, Demon Lord of the Western Lands," is Inuyasha's half-brother and the successor to the Great Dog Demon. Unlike many other demons, he has no interest in possessing even one shard of the Jewel of Four Souls to enhance his powers, since he is already supremely confident of his own strength and he only relies on his sword to aid him. Accompanying him is a young human girl named Rin, and a demon by the name Jaken. After Naraku attempts to manipulate him by using Rin as a hostage, Sesshomaru becomes determined to destroy Naraku.

Guts is the protagonist of the story. A tall, muscular male with a huge sword called the Dragon Slayer, a prosthetic left forearm that has a magnetic grip, and also conceals a cannon. Guts is a tragic hero; he is born as one who may be able to struggle against Causality, but seemingly unable to affect it on a large scale.
